About us

We're an accounting firm that believes staying matters as much as showing up.

Built around the idea that a business owner who understands their finances is a fundamentally different kind of business owner — one who makes better decisions, operates with more confidence, and builds something that lasts.

The beginning

Why I started Enlightened Order

I started this firm because I knew there had to be a better way to serve business owners than the traditional accounting model.

Most accounting relationships follow the same pattern. The accountant handles the technical work — accurately, on time, professionally. The business owner receives reports they don't fully understand, makes decisions without adequate financial context, and eventually realizes they've been paying for compliance work when what they really needed was a partner.

I built Enlightened Order around a different idea. The numbers matter. But what they mean matters more. And a business owner who understands their finances — who can look at a set of reports and know exactly what they're telling them — is a fundamentally different kind of business owner than one who just hopes for the best.

The approach

What working with us actually looks like

We start every client relationship with a Financial Clarity Assessment — not because it's a nice process step, but because we genuinely won't price your relationship until we understand your situation. That single decision changes everything about how we work together. We're not guessing at your complexity. We're not padding scope to protect ourselves. We're building the right relationship for your actual business.

From there, we get the books right — cleaning up what needs cleaning, setting up what needs setting up, and building the foundation for an ongoing relationship that serves you well. And once that foundation exists, we stay. We learn your business over time. We notice things. We bring you observations without being asked. We tell you the truth even when it's uncomfortable.

That continuity — a team that knows your business, your history, and your goals — is what makes the difference between an accounting firm and a financial partner.

The standard

What we hold ourselves to

We believe professionalism and kindness are not opposites. We can be meticulous and warm. We can hold a high standard and still treat clients like people. We can tell the truth and do it with care.

That belief shows up in how we communicate, how we deliver work, how we handle problems when they arise, and how we talk about what we do and don't know. We're not perfect — no firm is. But we're committed to the standard we've set for ourselves, and we take it seriously every day.

If that sounds like the kind of firm you've been looking for, we'd love to talk.
